"I am delighted to have received another product to trial for 2011, this being from a Shropshire company called 'Sea Chem' and once more enabling me to report my findings here for the benefit of my readers".
Provider: Sea Chem are the producers of environmentally safe products and have provided me with a 1 litre bottle of their growth stimulant (anyone who knows me in regards to dahlia cultivation will be aware how I have used seaweed feeds for many years on my dahlias and gladioli and more). (Please click on this link for up to date information).
History of Sea Chem: the company was established during the 1990's following the Rio earth summit in which the U.N. implored governments to rethink economic development and find ways to halt the destruction of irreplaceable natural resources and pollution of the planet.
The seaweed products produced use the seaweed Ascophyllum Nodosum (commonly known as 'knotted wrack') which stimulates plant growth, promotes healthy crops and leads to increased yields. The seaweed is substainable harvested from the West Coast of Ireland. They have also given me detailed yet easily readable literature which is both comprehensive and user friendly. The same can be said of their website, (Chris Black, Director, can be contacted via email to: enquiries@sea-chem.co.uk).
Seaweed Organic Growth Stimulant
Ascophyllum Nodosum 'Knotted Wrack'
My findings (work in progress 2011): for my trial I was very generously provided with a 1 litre bottle of Growth Stimulant (code 3107). Following my initial approach to Sea Chem I have found the communication from the company very friendly and approachable. Again first impressions are impressive and so a big thumbs up. Although I have not used Sea Chem's own seaweed based feeds before, as previously mentioned I am a firm believer in seaweed feeds having used them for many years, as I have quoted throughout my website.
